ex-hospital s. maria, milan, italy
2006
there is an athenaeum in treviglio, milano, that once upon a time was an hospital.
this was a special place, one of the first hospitals in the north of italy,
totally independent and laic.
the vatican forbade the use of the word maria, claiming copyright. it was a medical center of great strategic importance during the years of the bubonic plague in 1630.
